There was food and ideas spread between tents, exhibits, two stages and hundreds of people at the Chipotle Cultivate Festival… not to mention a girl in a pink pleated skirt.
This pink pleated skirt has been a challenge since the day I got it back in 2003. Originally intended for Easter when I was 13, this little number has remained in the closet of my old bedroom at my parents house with the tags still on it for over 12 years. Some may argue that it should have stayed that way, but after my last visit home, I took it with me and made it my mission to try and finally style.
Color combinations were the #1 challenge since I try to avoid pink and black (and anything else punk rock) and as much as I wanted blue to work, every shade (even navy) made it look like I was headed to a baby shower that the gender has not yet been revealed.
Feeling okay with the watermelon-like hues, I continued the fresh and casual summery look by pairing with my newly remixed Aldo slipper moccasins.
Being surrounded by bright colors and happy people doing scavenger hunts for free burritos, the Chipotle Cultivate Festival was the perfect atmosphere for this pink pleated skirt to finally make it’s public debut.
Sure, it may have ended up being a little quirky, but I had SO much fun trying to style it and while wearing it!
This whole outfit is of items I’ve had for a while, but if I were to buy new pieces now I would check out the following…
